Caning Service
Chair caning is a traditional method of weaving seats and backs using natural materials like cane or rush, preserving furniture aesthetics and providing durability and comfort. Skilled artisans ensure vintage chairs’ longevity, making them visually appealing and functional for generations.

Sheet Cane
5/8″ open mesh is our standard pattern.
Other sizes at additional cost.
$12 per linear inch, measured at the widest part of the seat.
Minimum $300 charge.
Staining and/or shellac are available at an additional cost.

Hand Cane
Chairs with holes drilled through the frame around the seat require hand cane.
$4 per hole where woven in the frame around the seat.
Staining and/or shellac are available at an additional cost.

Rush
Rush is a durable one ply twisted paper that is wrapped around the frame.
$12 per linear inch, measured at the widest part of the seat. Rocking chairs are $15 per inch.
The left side of the photo is topcoated. $65 for protective coating.

Flat Reed
Flat ½” reed provides a primitive/rustic seat. The flat reed is made from the rattan’s core. It is a durable natural material that is wrapped around the frame.
$12 per linear inch, measured at the widest part of the seat. Rocking chairs are $15 per inch.

Herringbone
A beautiful weave made with binder cane that is wrapped around the chair frame.
$12 per linear inch, measured at the widest part of the seat. Rocking chairs are $15 per inch.

Staining of Cane
$125 per side. Larger pieces will incur additional cost.

Protective Shellac Coating
$65. Larger pieces will incur additional cost.
